Just can't recall what make... thought it was Amati?...
Bell brace should be the giveaway.

Any ideas? Italian perhaps?...

Looks like a R Malerne, Paris made sax. The R Malerne company was sold to "SML" (the holding company) in 1975. A few years later "SML" saxes went out of business.

Could be a cheap East European horn ...... here`s an "Evette" in cash generator for £90 which looks very similar with identical bell brace . I`m not an expert on Evettes (who is, they vary so very much in who made them) but they`re usually bottom of the line apart from one or two very rare models made by old world Keilwerth or Kohlert (which I`m pretty sure were called Evette and Schaeffer not just evette), I seem to remember there was a Yani made one too but it was very evidently a Yani 500.

I'm not convinced that it's a Malerne stencil. There are quite a few assumptions pointing this way, but all the saxes that are clearly Malerne have a wire bell brace.

"So, there are a lot of Evette-Schaeffers out there built during that time frame that were made by:
Dörfler & Jörka (stamped “Made in West[ern] Germany,” except for baritones and sopranos)
Juilius Keilwerth (stamped “Made in West[ern] Germany,” but baritones and sopranos, only)
Malerne (one of possibly several Evette-Schaeffer horns stamped “Made in France,” but I’ve only seen Malerne stencils) and a lot of Italian manufacturers and all stamped “Made in Italy:”
Orsi
Grassi
Alfonso Rampone (almost definitely)
Rampone & Cazzani (possibly)
Santoni
and at least one US company, Conn. The one I saw was one that looked like the Nogales-sourced student models."

it`s not a schaeffer from the description and if it was , I`m pretty sure they`d have labelled it so as that`s how CC staff work

Yup - if it had been a R&C the one in my link would have gone by now -- Geographically it`s situated inbetween Trimmy & me so not far away and I can`t be bothered to go and have a look . if it was a Schaeffer made by Keilwerth or better still Yani then it`d have gone minutes after being listed on CC`s site ...

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
