Bruised lips?

Has anyone had bruised lips from sax playing? I first noticed a kind of red stripe just above the top lip and below my bottom lip about the width of the mouthpiece a few months ago when I had just changed to a Link STM and 3* reed. I don't have any trouble playing such combination but have recently bought a Conn 10M and gone back to my Link ebonite and am still getting some bruising. I guess it's the lip pressure sealing the reed. Am thinking of going back to a 2&1/2. Anyone else had this and is it really bad? Think I know the answer..

Doh...

I didn't get any meaningful responses to this thread but can now reveal the problem.............

I returned from a week in Turkey with the family late last night. Up early to get to work and catch up with the several hundred emails blah blah etc. Haven't played the sax for a week, no bruised lips. Came out of the shower this morning after a rather quick slapdash shave. Bruised upper lip that is obviously a skin abrasion. What a wally. Need to limit my extreme shaving a bit....

What 'appened to the 'tache' then?
