OK its not pure jazz but most interesting music is crossover stuff.

I think the clip-on mic isn't capturing Branford's sound well - he has got a great sound on studio albums.

Yes I agree ... It sounds sort of muffled ... no character !

Considering where the clip-on mic is actually placed I don't find the sound too surprising.

I guess it's deliberate but he may have just clobbered it and not noticed. Happens to me anyway.
 
Nick ...I think you are right It ( the clip - on ) seems to be directed above the bell and well away to the side :shocked:
