For 15 years ago I bought an old Kohlert (VKS) tenor. I like old Kohlert's. When I opened the case there were straps, reeds, mouthpieces .... as well. A reddish brass mouthpiece caught my eyes. The mouthpiece has been plated but the plating is removed. The lig and cap was/is junk. I can't read the stamp just the letters "CZ". As a blues and Rock & Roll honker it was these things that caught my eyes:

Metal: "Reddish" brass must contain more copper?
Slim: Very slim to be honest.
Form: It's the same width from the tip to the end of the shank. Easy to found a new ligature.
Beak: Straight and precipitous. I have to open my mouth more!
Table and rails: Flat and even. Long table as well.
Chamber: High baffle (something between a "0" and "1" BL chamber). A small roll over baffle c 10 mm down the baffle. Bullet baffle/bore but not pointed bullet. The chamber is tapered. It's a small chamber mouthpiece (the bore is wider than the chamber).
Tip opening: 0.085". My Rovner Deep-V is 0.130".
Lay: Roughly the same as BL "SMS" lay.
Weight: 105 g. Heavy. Stabile, I feel "grounded".

I found a mouthpice which is playing well on my Martin Handcraft (committee) tenor 1938. BG F L, Rovner dark ... is holding the reed in a good way. I play Vandoren V16 or plasticover on this mouthpiece. The only problem is that the bore (ID) is a little bit narrow. I have to sand down the neck cork to minimum. Who made it? Was it a forerunner to BL? Or any other mouthpiece maker. The VKS tenor is still resting in the case, waiting to be fixed.

This is not the only mouthpiece bargain I have done when I bought old saxes. I got an old sax and a good mouthpiece for less money than a new metal mouthpice.

I don't know about nickel, but if chrome plated, to make the chrome stick usually requires copper plating the metal. (I am not a metallurgist.)

It's a brass mouthpiece which have been plating. This mouthpiece is not "yellowish" bras like other bare brass mouthpieces I have.

I have one of these ( Amati Classic metal mouthpiece) , the originall ligature is not really good , but when i fitted a Rovner Platinum on it , it plays really great, more on the bright side of the spectrum. I am wondereing about other memembers experince with this mouthpieces ?

Isn't the idea of the Holy Grail that when you see it, you'll know what it is? Sounds like what you've got is an old mystery Eastern Bloc mouthpiece that happens to play well for you.

You are right ablout "Holy Grail". I just found an interesting mouthpice. But it's not mpc made after WWII. East Bloc, Comecon, Warsaw Pact .... were formed after WWII.

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
