Accessories ? Borg Tenor in Hiscox ?

Has anyone out there tried to put a Borgani Tenor into a Hiscox case...if so, has it been O.k ??

Many Thanks.

Ricky

I got my 2nd Borg jubilee tenor now and having owned a few Hiscoxs i would think they would fit as the hiscox has more room around the horn and should be fine with the larger bell flare and longer bell.Have you not got the borgani shaped case, love mine.

Hi Trev and Davey.

I have a friend that lives in Vienna...He has a Ponzol Borg (same shape as a Jubilee).
He now wants a good case for it. I did give him the info on Walt Johnson but I think he found it a bit too rich £££.
I still have My W.J. I also have a Navy Blue Leather/shaped Jubilee case that is ok, but not fantastic...Davey I think you must have the later Silver or Black (Bam or the De-lux) glassfibe case. sounds like you are more than happy with that one ??

Trev if you have time I would like to pop over and have a quick look, maybe take a pic and send it over to him. I am not sure if Hiscox has an agent over there !

Thank you Both.

Ricky I think the Hiscox cases - particularly the new Artist models are a tad on the snug side and I would use one for a Borgani. The older models seem to have a little more room but I personally wouldnt chance it.

If I were to recommend a case for the Borg the Walt Johnson would be first closely followd by a Bam trekking case.

Ive had a customer with a Bam Hi teck fiberglass case and it pushed doown on the bell as the case was too snug and the bell keys leaked because of it.

Checkout the fibreglass Jakob Winter Eastman cases,i had 1 in silver.Very nice and it fitted big bell horns,.good price also

Hi Ricky,

I kept mine in a Hiscox Liteflite case for 3 years with no damage to the horn at all (I did use a cloth as extra padding to stop vertical movement).
You tried my horn and it was more or less the same as yours, so I reckon it offers good protection.

Ricky - the BAM trekking is not a hard shell case but I wouldnt class it as a gigbag either. Its a bit like the case you used to get with the Jupiter saxes but better protection - as you would expect from BAM.

Hi All

Thanks for all the info ...There is a company on ebay still selling the old STD model Hiscox. As Griff said the old STD has a bit more space on the inside. Whats more they are only £89.95+post for the Tenor. My friend very much liked the case and the price so is now all sorted. Thanks again for your input.
Trev am still up for a catch-up and a cup of Tea on the 23rd😀

Yeah OK Ricky that'll be good.
The hiscox I have is certainly earlier than the ones I remember seeing in the videos on their site but I can't remember how many levels they do. It has some extra protective padding but it not top of the range either. I'm away from home at the mo and my Internet is too painful to check.
Give me a text or a call when you are on your way!
