Playing Blues scale

Someone did me blues in all keys backing track,by Jamie abersold, now if I play a track in c..can I use d minor scale,or F major scale...think my head haggled from work..to muchn going on.Thanks.

If you have a blues in C you can use a C minor blues scale, which will probably be fine over all 12 bars - especially if you phrase it well. A C major blues scale will be fine over the C chords, but not so much the others, especially F7. And not really at all if it's a minor blues.

I'm not sure where you get D minor or F major if it's a C blues.

Hi Bumnote, i think you think you have to go up a tone, are you playing tenor? its probably or not? written out in the tenor key, is it in Bflat concert key?, i would learn chord tones for the chords and experiment with those as well as the "blues scale" in the key you need to be in? regards , Jez
