I am working my way through the solo transcriptions in this book. Can anyone elucidate the comment about a"nice mixolodian lick" referring to D8 and D9 page 49 - the Gene Ammons solo? I know what a mixolodian mode is but can't identify this one.
eeerrrh not right I think. Over Cm7 we should have a C dorian mode which fits as the Eb is the flat 3 and C mix does not have a flat 3I think the answer is a misprint. He should refer to bars D9 and D10 not 8 and 9. Then the riff starts and ends on c and only one note is not C mixolodian.
