It seems it would have been Charlie Parkers 100th birthday sometime this week . Also the fourth birthday of SYOS. I just got a mail from them complete with " Blues for Alice " backing track.
I haven't really read it through as I'm not over interested but it seems :
The idea is to video yourself soloing so as to be a part of one of these collaboration clips.
A load of players all doing the same merging into one long bluesfest.
If you are on SYOS mailing list ( I'd forgotten I was ) you will no doubt get the same.
Not my thing but anybody else fancy their 60 seconds of fame ?
If so good luck...your Cafe depends on you !!

Sadly, Bird only lived about a third of those 100 years! And we don't have that many recordings of his prowess.
