Strings Bill Laurence Project

trimmy

One day i will...
I went to The Capstone theatre Liverpool last night (between work) to see Bill Laurence (Snarky Puppy) with fellow members Michael League & Robert 'Spug' Searight along with a string ensemble from The Heritage Ensemble plus French horn player Katie Price (feel for her sharing the name !!)
A fantastic gig with Bill Laurence playing tunes from his new/old albums, you can obviously hear sounds of Snarky in some of his tunes but that said his own identity does come through.
It was very interesting and excellent the way he has incorporated the strings & horn into his music and it certainly works, the horn play by Katie was (to my untrained ears) sublime.

Ben Trigg (Cello) pulled the string section together which consisted of two violins, viol and cello the playing by lead violin (Kit Simmons) was brilliant, I apologize for not remembering the other violinist and the viol players names (both ladies) but each definitely added to the gig.
If you get the chance to go to one of his gigs then i urge you to go, you will not be disappointed !
Excellent gig and up there with the best I've attended....
