I use them every time I end playing. They work (I'm one who generally tends to keep the instrument as much as possible cleaned and fuctional).

They are just a piece microfiber cloth.

I think so - and dry all pads on my saxes (special the closed pads; palm keys, g#, Eb/D# ...) after playing. You can use pad paper (no powder), pad-svab (BG), pad-stick or just a strong paper. Prevent sticking pads and the pads last longer as well.

Essential for clarinet. And I think essential if your sax has rolled tone holes.

Ever since I started giving my SMLs palm keys, G#, C# and sometimes B natural a very quick wipe with the BG pad dryer after every practise/performance - they NO LONGER STICK!*

Correction: I use them for the same reason on my SML alto. All my other horns dry naturally.
