I am always doing lots of Tenor work, recording, gigs, etc etc and my poor little soprano was feeling unloved so I figured to give it another airing on here so here is my version of "Beautiful Love"
(ps. the alto is kinda feeling the same way too!)
as always feedback, comments etc. etc. are welcome,
enjoy!

Great rendition of the tune and a nice sort of laid back swinging feel.:thumb:

I've never been a big fan of the soprano sound.(apart from Zoot Sims).
But you may just have changed my way of thinking.
Really enjoyed that and will now have to listen more to soprano players other than Zoot.
Nick.

There's always Kenny G>:)

Jan Garbarek put me off soprano for many years. Then I heard Sydney Bechet....

I am happy that you are seeing the soprano in a different way, it can also sound like a strangled parrot if you put it in the wrong hands.🙂))

no sadly, my C.D is going to be mostly original stuff i am writing with maybe a live gig recorded as a track (T.B.A), but at a later date i might do a "standards" C.D. thanks for the suggestion and idea 🙂

which leads me on from Jamesmac, i am still wanting and am open to suggestions on tunes to record either on sop, alto or tenor, it is a good practice and maybe alerts me to tunes i have overlooked, forgotten or would of never thought about.
cheers!

Cool sop sound.Yea them SR mps are very nice.Good flow and swinging along.
cheers for the feedback... I am just getting more and more sound texture from the SR as i get used to it more (it is a recent GAS purchase, with many others recently) and it is not as bright as i expected, but that's ok, i am preferring it to my other sop pieces for all round playing (selmer s80 and Theo Wanne copy)

awww don't imply that i am sure you sound great on that wonderful (soon to be mine,;} cough splutter) yss-62🙂

I manage the occasional sweet note but they are few and far between🙂

Re soon to be yours, the only way you will get your hands on my sax is if you marry me and my husband might have something to say about that;}.................actually come to think of it he might well agree if it meant the sax went too>:)

Talking about suggestions to play some time ago Chris posted a lovely track that was crying out for sop to be played over it, there were a few postings.
