Hi Mark... far from an expert here but I felt like making a comment... your sound is getting better (IMHO) but your playing is lacking "swing". You gotta try to break the notes a bit, make some shorter, others longer... I have the feeling that you are too locked on the sheet...My lovely wife seems to be recovering well from her recent operation so here goes with my first attempt.

At the first of the month Bernie asked if I would make a backing track that went into double time on the second chorus like the Coltrane version.
Tap your toe twice as fast? 🙂Hi @jbtsax
I'm going to give this a try later on, but I've found it pretty difficult when I've tried it before, do you have any suggestions about learning to play in double time, or is it just a matter of practice?
Well here's my take @Chris kindly did me a shorter bt, bit of a sudden end though 🙂
I've really struggled with the drop from higher octave to lower on this and there are so many of them.
There is also a real dryness in my tone that I can't figure out as I'm sure it isn't that bad live 🙁
On the upside, I found I was hearing the chord changes easier 🙂

As ever any hints tips advice (take up knitting!) welcome 🙂

Yes, the mic I was using was a very cheap one to my laptop so I used my cell phone (nexus 5) and it sounded better. The room you are in can make a huge difference, the Baptist Church that I attend has great acoustics an everything sounds better there than at home.
