Welcome back, although must admit to being nervous regarding your avatar, can't remember whether s/he plays Walstein or Mauriat.

Who's hand is sticking out of St Andrew's robes in that avatar? Or did he have arms like Mr Tickle? Is that a responsible way to hold a sword..etc :D

Welcome!

Apologies, Drew.
Never realised that it was Saint Andrew, eyes aren't what they used to be. Which brings up the question, is it the Golf Course or the University that plays Walstein or Mauriat?

Welcome Drew.
Bill I suspect that what horn St Andrew played is something that is lost in time. But in only sightly similar vein, was it Rex Stewart who said "When old Gabriel blows that horn I hope he uses the fingering Tommy Ladnier taught him". (Sorry, chaps, trumpeter's joke. I'll leave now...)

I meant to tell you that this is a brand new breakfastroom and we all had to re-register. It had nothing to do with your being away. Are you playing with any bands in town?

Jim.

Because of tinnitus I've given up on a couple of community bands that I liked to play with. However I still play in a sax quartet, sax choir and a dance band that plays the 1930s music that I like. It's all super fun.

If you would like to join a band I can give you the contact details for three. They meet in Corstorphine, Leith or central Edinburgh on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Take your pick.
