Hello all, I would like to buy a curly soprano sax from Bauhaus or Yani and I particularly like the bronze version. If you have one you would like to sell, please contact me.

i know there's a big difference in value between the two! Yani is my absolute dream sop, but no too many if them around. BW is a reasonable substitute and gets some good reviews.

if there is another good quality intermediate/pro model in the curly you think I should know about, please tell!

kind regards

Dee

For similar money to the Yani you could also investigate Rampone and Cazzani who make curved sopranos in a variety of finishes. It's a very different sound to the Yani, would definitely be worth playing the two side by side to see which you prefer. I have an R&C which I love, it's darker and to my ears sweeter than a Yanagisawa. I love the Yanis though, they are probably the benchmark by which all other curved sopranos should be judged, the most 'neutral' sounding and easiest to play.

Hi, thanks for that. I've just listened to a sound clip on YouTube and I agree they sound wonderful. I'm very close to sax.co.uk so I'll check one out. I do want to buy used though as I don't have the budget for a new one. They're now firmly on my list.

Thanks Kev. I don't know what you mean by rare, I did a google search and found 3. I'd just lost out by a whisker - the last one sold in 2004!

Wow, thanks Amanda! I've been on ebay 2 or 3 times a day for a week and nothing. I give up for the weekend, go to do a couple of hours of practice, come back, and you've seen the exact thing I asked for.

Wish me luck!
