Email via the contact form:

Hello

My name is Jason and I am with VerticalScope Inc. a well established online media company based in Canada. We own and operate many sites across several verticals, including the Music space.

You have done a tremendous job of building the cafesaxophone.com community, and we are very interested in exploring a possible purchase of your site. We are well resourced, experienced community managers, so please treat this as a serious inquiry from a credible buyer.

Even if you aren’t considering sale at this time, I am sure you would find the conversation interesting and informative. Please give me a call or email me to let me know if you would like to chat further.

Is Cafe Sax a vertical? Yes, it is, in marketing cobblers a vertical is a single niche product, which is what Cafe Sax is. VerticalScope runs thousands of web sites, forums, etc. It is also notorious for having been massively hacked, and losing 45 million sets of log on credentials.

If you want to sell, give us members first refusal, it's too special to hand over to someone who doesn't care.

You've done a fantastic job making it what it is. :)

Where exactly does the Cafe fit into their game plan???

"We specialize in the acquisition and development of websites and online communities for the Automotive, Powersports, Power Equipment, Pets, Sports and Technology vertical markets"

On second thought it would probably most likely be in the Pet Section!

The company would be looking to make a profit, so I assume it would either put a lot more advertising on the site or it would sell the contact details of the subscribers, or both.

Presumably they would use their own ("professional") moderators, which would alter the feel of the Cafe quite a bit.

It's the market that is vertical, not the Forum. A vertical market caters for a specialised group of purchasers, rather than for everyone. So railway engines are a vertical market, whereas mobile phones are not.
