Even worse this morning, we missed the record low temp by 1 degree. Our average low is like 62f. Forecast is for 90f on Sunday.Yeah it's not summery at all here either!
Ouch! I hate arrangements like that. The only thing worse is when it's 40 semibreves, all subtone and below bottom C. With no spaces. At 40bpm.I'm playing this in a couple of weeks. 2nd clarinet in a symphony orchestra, accompanying an opera singer for a fundraising gig.
I have two notes, both semibreves, in the whole tune... Your version sounds much more fun. Lovely tone as always.
I enjoyed listening to you play that ...
Trying to learn this at the moment..oh to be able to play it how that sounded. Lovelly great tone and improv..
Yes, you can ask, but I might not give the best answer. @Acan_9526 will do a far better job of guiding! Can i ask how is improv like that learnt...
Thanks Steve, appreciated!Very nice version of this lovely old tune. I have many fond memories of playing and hearing it, thanks for invoking that nostalgic, slight melancholy yet peaceful and blissful feeling. Well done Matt!
Easy answer is, familiarity with the song key and filling the long note spaces with spills, lifts and turnarounds ... just let your fingers fall down across some notes. Don't worry too much about hitting wrong notes. Maybe try playing it by ear in say A and try using notes from the A and or F# Major pentatoinc scale, chucking in the G# ... ... just play around with it. Experiment. Start C#, A, C#----Can i ask how is improv like that learnt...
