A friend forwarded this article. At first I didn't see the saxophone and wondered who this guy was.
"The alto saxophone’s blooming quality felt exotic, and it drew him in."
I'll drink to that!

"Mr. Gopalnath would eventually become one of the most prominent classical musicians in India, and the first to show on a grand scale how the saxophone, despite its Western-tempered tuning, could be a real asset in Carnatic music, not just a novelty."

This one is a little more calm and listenable.

Especially as in the first one he's playing something that appears to be not totally dissimilar to one of those SSOs we come across from time to time.
It sounds tuneful and in tune to my ears so it is a real sax. I don't suppose he plays tenor or bari cross legged, unless he can yogic fly

I thoroughly enjoyed both vids

The second, trading tantric tours... nice

Did Adolph sax imagine his instrument being used for Jazz?
