Very rare alto flute, this was the first one ever of a line of flutes I was going to introduce to the market back in 2008. It is indeed, a Pete Thomas brand serial number AF1.

It was fettled by Stephen Howard a few years back since when it has not been played so I'm sure it is tip top condition. All pads are in perfect order. But why believe all this sales hype when you can listen to the audio of the exact same flute:

Who, where, what? I hear you ask. So there is the deeper info. It was made for by Jin Ming Musical instruments in sunny China. And in the interests of full transparency I do believe the same model is still available and you get it for about $700 wholesale.

So this seems a decent price at £390.

I'll DM any specific close up pics.

Hi Pete,

I'd like to buy it if you can post it to Manchester. I've mostly been playing flutes, lately. Would Special Delivery work?

I don't do bank transfers though. I'm happy to pay by Paypal Friends and Family, if that works for you.

PayPal reminder:

Any buyer who wants to pay via PayPal Friends & Family is risking their entire payment.
The seller can then keep the goods and the buyer cannot make a claim as PayPal will say "you were sending the money to friends and family, not for goods or services, so... tough."

Conversely, any seller who will only take a payment via F&F is, to my mind, either an outright scammer (generally) or ignorant to the guidelines on buying/selling goods through PayPal which stipulate there is no comeback, no "buyer/seller" protection, unless the payment is made via "Goods & Services" within PayPal.

Even when G&S is utilised, some sellers fear a buyer may claim a refund for some defect they invent, or that they received a box of bricks, and generally PayPal will side with a buyer in this circumstance. The seller is entitled to ask for a bank payment if this is a worry.

On here, it's generally easy to take a view on whether to pay by bank transfer or cheque by researching the buyers post count and recent interaction. Still dangerous for a buyer. Absolutely safe for a seller. Present company excepted.
