Akai EWI-4000S MIDI Wind controller with built in Analog modelling synth for sale .. this is an excellent device and still in production, many prefer it to the new EWI-5000 because of the Analog modelling synth & AA batteries over the 5000`s sample playback sound source & dedicated Li-Ion . This one has the latest firmware, it does sax-alike fingering by default but is really it`s own instrument which makes it more flexible than the Yamaha controllers .. the EWI-4000S was favoured by Michael Brecker which says a lot in my book .

It works beautifully both as a complete instrument or as a MIDI Controller , Condition wise, it`s lovely apart from a cosmetic rub+scratch on the top (see Photo) , it comes with the end cap only but as it takes standard AA batteries (I`ve been using Rechargeable Eneloops) or a standard 9V adapter (200mA Positive centre) , not a problem. all the software for PC or Mac is available for download from Akai's website including the manual ..

Selling simply because I need the cash help to pay off the upgrade from binny YTS-61 to near mint one - asking £250 (5% of which goes to the forum) , Bank Transfer if possible but would take Paypal if the buyer covers the costs (3.5 percent) , Courier optional , please ask ..

This is still here - remember that It`s not just a controller, it has a fully functioning and computer-programmable Virtual Analog modelling synth engine onboard which sounds like an ARP Odyssey and is far more expressive than a bunch of samples

It really was cheap - I accepted Martin's offer and it`ll be going to a good home .. just need to sell the fantastic Steph now and send the YTS-61 to Stephen Howard for a top level setup and regulation 🙂

Similar threads... or are they? Maybe not but they could be worth reading anyway 😀
