I have been working through this tune with one of my students and we searched youtube so that he could hear the middle section.

Yes, a nice, fun version Dave. The progression in that middle section is just so good, but then it is Fats Waller! If you can get it the definitive version, I reckon, is Louis Armstrong's from 1929, for both his trumpet and singing. Unfortunately you have to get past the dire contributions from his sidemen, but once you do, there's gold.
