PPT mouthpieces

Afternoon in Paris

Nice sound.

What make and model of horn were you playing? Just curious.

Thanks!Trevor James Horn 88, Metal Berg, 110/sms/2 and Hemke reed no.2

I really enjoyed that. You’ve got that beautiful, husky tenor tone. Thanks for sharing!

Nicely played with the appropriate feel for this style. The reed sounds like you've got it under good control but has a very slight tendency to squawk. Can be good or bad depending on your control and point of view. There is a little brightening (higher partials) that = squawk which could be desirable, but your tone is also dark/husky. I'd be interested to hear whether YOU like the sound... or not.

Sounds great! I might try some Hemke Reeds myself.

I read somewhere that Sonny Rollins used Hemke on his Berg, so decided to try them myself.
I was pleasantly surprised by Hemke. Not too expensive, quick response and a pleasant tone, especially when new. Currently Hemke and Select Jazz are my favourite. I find them very similar with select jazz being a bit more on a bright side.
