hi everyone.
quick question:
page 38 (treble clef, patterns for maj 2 5 1)
pattern no 55
it sounds great but just wondering (over the G7 chord) the notes in bar 2 are:
+4 3 M7 (not b7) +5 b9 and then (over the Cmaj) 5

My ears says yes and my mind says 'why does that work?'
Doent seem to be a 'passing note' as such as its part of an arpeggio

what does everyone think?
cheers

ps. i just noticed that those notes in bar 2 of pattern 55 are 1,2,3,5,6,7 of B major (over a G7). Maybe thats why it sounds good, cos its kinda out but in (with itself) like B major back to C major (i guess I'm probably just 're-inventing the wheel'
ps does anyone like to play a Maj7 instead of a Dom7th (preceding the I chord)?
Sounds kind of wrong-right (as the maj 7 sounds like the +4 of the tonic chord and resolves quite nicely - I never heard of anyone doing that - is it common?.....
yours ever wonderingly,
JAKE
