I have just signed up to go the the Advanced Wind Band day. The advert says grade 8+
When I phoned up they've allocated me to the Alto 1 part.
I hope there are more than one of us on a part! 😱

I'm not really sure what I've let myself in for, but it can't be too bad, can it?

Of course we'd all of us be eligible to sit alongside you in the 1st alto/tenor/bass/sopranino/baritone and soprano seats if only we weren't heading north to the frozen wastes of Aberdeenshire on the same weekend

(Eh Trimmy?)

Have a good'un Mandy

Personally I would go sick. But I am sure you are made of more talented stuff. Anyway, its as much your day as theirs so enjoy what comes out of the spout and remember the most important thing with ensemble playing; if something comes out wrong be the first to put on an exasperated face and start looking at others. And don't blush.

Wow!
I highly recommend the next one (26th September in Taunton), or the intermediate Wind band day (10th May in Cheltenham)
Pete Long was a superb band leader.
It was indeed an "advanced" day, but I didn't feel out of my depth.
It was a wonderful experience, and definitely worth the 2 hour drive each way.
