Just some info MIR (Musical Instrument Repairs)which used to be in Halesowen was owned by Charlie Connolly and Dave Toy.
They split about 5 years or so,Charlie is in West Bromwich and Dave and Neil Walsall.

Thanks Brian. Do you have any example prices for jobs he's done for you?

To have a setup its about £60ish,full service where the sax is disassembled cleaned, setup etc is about £100ish.
It all depends what needs to be done.
Both Charlie and Matt who worked with him at Halesowen are excellent.

I have also used Windwood Repairs in Bloxwich Walsall, which is Mark Wilkinson (Bopity funk on SOTW)

If you can get to Northampton, St Giles Music have a tech called Paul Egan who has always dealt with my saxes - nice bloke, does a great job, very reasonable. Also teaches so he is more than just a spanner man.

What's wrong with Paul Carrington who I recommended to you originally? you not happy with his work for some reason?

Paul told me a few weeks ago he'll be busy to the end of September once he's home from holiday. Also, he's an hour away from me. Geoff Young, doing the re-pad on the Grassi soon, is an hour and a half! Some on the list are less than half an hour away and most of my clients are in Brum which makes some easy to drop in to while I'm there.

It's always good to know your options.
