It was not unexpected as his life expectancy had been predicted as no more than 40 years. He didn't quite make that but the last few years had been very hard for him as he gradually become totally immobile and lost the ability to speak. With an active brain, he had an Honours degree from the University of Kent, it was especially hard for him to be totally dependent on his 24 hour carers. This is no life for anyone so it is a welcome release for him...
