Great stuff both you cats I knew everyone would be chomping at the bit to do a rendition of this one "well I hoped you would anyway"

Davey one of your usual masterpieces ......certainly gives everybody something to aim for both of you.
Cheers now. Great pick for sure.

Ace Choice.

I`m surprised it`s taken so long to come out "24 months". I think it`s safe to say that this tune is one that every Sax Player should at least want to try and get under their fingers " some might suggest Careless Whisper or Baker Street".LOL;}

Listened to Chris Last Night. Smoother and more fluent. Also your putting your little touches in on Auto pilot now and that`a a very good sign for the future.

@ At Davey. I have heard so much of your playing in the last 3-4 days that it`s all getting a bit of a blur. I`m still thinking which one it was with the Sop and Tenor where you played the Sop solo In a mellow toned way it just sounded great and the notes were ace too.:D Re Misty. This sounds perfectly suited to being a track off a smooth album and I sense that`s what you are after. but smooth with a sharpened edge. If this is your musical direction then you are certainly a great deal of the way along that journey and I hope that someone out there in the Music Biz sees what you are achieving.

@ clivey,,, yea been giving the new gear a good run through and always trying new recording ways and of course in a lot of styles. I love smooth jazz just as much as full on jazz. I have to be up to most styles as its what I do. Got to pay the bills. Theres no style I would diss or not be prepared to play. Its all music and its a big melting pot.

This is the version of "Misty" that burned itself into my brain as a kid, and will never be shifted ...

Apologies for any trauma caused or distressing flashbacks .....

(But isn't it great really? >:))

I decided to upgrade a little with mic I'm using. I ordered the Elvis TBone from thomann. It's quite pretty mic and good value. You get one for the money and one for the show. Will it perform?

I thought I had Misty off pat but can't remember the last time I played it. Rusty player and a new mic.

@AlanT,,, hey thanks now. I fancy penning some tunes next year and doing a CD. Go the bandcamp route for selling it. Good to know my new Sheppard sax is worth every penny of the big 5k. Like I said at the start of the year when I tested the model I have now it was just so freaky nice. Its my dream tenor that just suits me like a glove.

Well if that's ya new mic it sounds better. More all round depth,warmth and colour. As I always say you get what you pay for and even more so on mic's. No rust here dude, solid as a rock. You and your big French vibrato you, oh ya are a devil.

Thanks again John, thoroughly enjoyed playing this one. I got impatient and found some backing on the web before you posted the links.

Not in the same key as the ones from Chris but actually I found it easier to play in F than G.

Good effort for sure. Just to say watch the timing as you were getting further behind as the tune went. A good tip is work in 4 bar sections getting the theme right. Keep at it dude. Well done.
