Hereunder is a copy of email received giving details on how to apply, I do have the application forms & can email if needed, or contact via the organiser:

Hi there,

Saxophone Massive is searching for 200 saxophonists of all ages and abilities –amateurs, teachers and beginners – to join jazz saxophonist Andy Sheppard and other internationally-acclaimed players in a momentous performance at London’s iconic Somerset House. The performance forms part of BT River of Music, which takes part on 21/22 July 2012 and forms a major part of the London Festival 2012, the culmination of the Cultural Olympiad. BT River of Music will take place at six landmark sites along the river Thames, and will represent all 204 Olympic and Paralympic nations across a spectacular weekend of free music. Alongside Saxophone Massive, the BT River of Music will also feature performances from artists such as; the Scissor Sisters, Wynton Marsalis, Zakir Hussain and Jools Holland!

If you are interested in participating in this exciting event you will need to be available for rehearsals on a few Sundays in June and July 2012 as well as the performance on Sunday 22 July. For a taster of what you could be part of, please watch this video of a performance of the Saxophone Massive in Norwich.

If you would like to perform in this edition of the ‘massive’ please fill in the attached application form. Also, please feel free to spread the word to any sax-playing friends you have.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch (020 7324 1880, or claire.furlong@serious.org.uk).

Best wishes

Claire
