Hello, I started playing sax about a year ago and I'm in love with the instrument already! I've joined this site to connect and interact with other saxophonists and I hope I'll have a good time here :)

Welcome to the Café. The saxophone is a wonderful instrument and we all share your love for it. Which one(s) do you play? You will have blast and learn so many useful things.

I mainly play alto, I have some experience on tenor, and I'm planning on getting a soprano soon.

So how is it going so far ? Do you take private lessons ? What kind of music do you play/would you like to be playing ?

...are your neighbors supportive  ? LOL.....

Hi there crunchywhatever. I think it's dangerous to hold such a pseudo. The last thing crunchy I've seen has been swallowed rather quickly! When not by me it's one of my 3 teens that will dispose of it without prior notice.

So, if you survive that, you'll enjoy being here! No doubt. Keep blowing and mingle. Lots of friendly people around... Not all starving.

.
Well, as long as the sax's pads aren't the things that are crunchy, OP is probably safe....

Welcome! And thank you for reminding me of Gil Scott-Heron's song ;). No saxophones in there afaik, but don't let that stop you from trying. Yes, I know there's another version without Jamie xx, but I happen to like this one

I wouldn't necessarily say my neighbors are supportive.. but it's been good! I take private lessons once a week and I play mostly classical pieces like Sonata no. 3 by Handel (transcribed for sax) and of course ferling etudes. I've been experimenting with jazz some, and I love it so far, I'd like to be able to learn more about it though.

There are lots of knowledgeable jazz players here. If you post questions, you will get answers.

Welcome Crunchy,
how about a recipe for your Crunchy "Nanners" ?
Good name for an Tune, would've been a good name for the Mel Ramos Chiquita painting.

I'm afraid my secret formula for my crunchy nanners is top secret, I can't be handing it out to the public

I can't be handing it out to the public
May I bring to your attention that we are not the public.
We are the secret society of the chosen few who blow down banana shaped tubes.
Many of us are indeed old bananas but with a spoonful of peanut butter and a sprinkle of garlic on toast we're up and crispy.
You don't want to share your recipe. Kewl, I'm not gonna share you mine - yummmeee

Come on, if you can't share your recipe, then how can we validate that it's crunchy?

Share or be banned! And as @spike said, we're not public or we'd know it and it wouldn't be as much fun.
