Slow learner.

Welcome from me too. Looks like you were born to join this place.
A sense of humour is a must when saxophoning and a good one is even better.
You'll fit right in.

Welcome and get yourself over to the Ballad of the Month and Song of the month threads as soon as you can string more than 3 notes together :)

A belated welcome seems your having fun already and now gone for a Bari they're great fun if you can handle the weight I had one myself for a while but that's another story.
I used to live over in Denton some years back Thornley Park, now I'm over Middleton way, enjoy your saxes

Slow is the new fast. Trust me!

Because 100% of those that try to skip time with magic tricks, tend to loose time and start things all over.
Do you want to play accurate? Go Slow!
Do you want to improve your sight reading? Go SLOW!
Do you want to play fast? How on earth will you ever play fast without being sloppy without first going S-L-O-W?
I love taking things slowly and nicely and trying to have fun with whatever I'm playing/studying.

Boy I love "slow" progress.......

This is not only for saxophone... this is for all instruments.

I'm the other side of Denton nearer to Hyde.

The weight of the bari has definitely slowed me down. Also, the rh keys feel a long way down hill compared to the alto.

The RH keys are easier if you either sit or have the body tube angled back more. Means your head needs to bend forward more.

I'll try that. Just going for second ever practice session on the bari.

Well, that sounded like I was strangling a cat... urghh..

It takes time to make a switch. Focus on the bari for a month or so...
Sometimes even changing mouthpiece/reed takes time to get used to ..... :)

It was fine when i first tried it but today ,, orrible

What do you mean slow learner, I'm been learning for year too but I'm only just about at the end of book 1 ! best of luck and welcome. David
