that means I make it yet another mid-40s beginner
I found my sax teacher via a local music shop - just asked if they knew of any sax teachers. They gave me a list of 3 or 4, saying they'd heard this one was good, but because neither of them played sax, they couldn't "recommend" her as such.
She is good - flippin' excellent. I love my sax lessons

    Welcome to the caff, Seedy.

I'm the dreaded ST8 owner and as it is the only sax I've ever owned, not really qualified to give any opinion. The ST6 is supposed to be a copy of the MKVl. Alastair, THE HANSON, is a good guy and sometimes produces brass prototypes for famous companies so knows quite a bit about acoustics and metal bashing. Just play your 6 and good luck with all saxophony in general

    ENJOY!.

What are the reasons we take up the sax now. He says its too late for us to really become anything except old men who can play the sax??
I'm glad I never met Jack!!!

Hi Seedy and welcome to the Adult Learning centre! I started at 40, now 45 and still loving it!! As for learning to read music, I've given up trying! I just can't seem to get the hang of it.

Hi seedy, I have an ST6, and although it's a little heavy, it plays well and is capeable of top notch performance.
Is 46 too old? it sure ain't. I'm pushing 68 and still rocking (my picky was taken 3 weeks ago).
